Does anyone have any first hand experience with this on the water? Just curious about the accuracy of SST's, and the current conditions of the area...?

I've got it on my boat. The SST aren't that accurate IMO. The current conditions seems to be right on and after having it for a year now, I wouldn't be without it for the NEXRAD feature alone.

That's what I have heard, but on the website it says they are updated every 12 mins... by not that accurate are you saying that you have stopped where it says there is a break and the temp gauge doesn't show any change?

I haven't really checked any breaks, just noticed that the temp lines were way off from what my transducer was showing.

And for the price of 10 gallons of a gas a month, its definatly worth it. Not on my boat yet, but have been on other boats with it.

Default xm

I have one one the boat, it runs through a Garmin 3010 UNIT. I have had it for 3 years and would not leave home with out it. SST can varie throughout the day, water is always moving in and out, i notice that the temp. lines are close, but they can vary with in a few degrees during the day. I use it as a referance while I am out. I have noticed that different units produce the information in different ways. xm is compatable with other units other then garmin. NICE to see them coming when your 50 miles off the beach! also look into sirus, they released a program last year at the miami boat show.
