Default Mac OSX Leopard

Just wanted to see if any of my Apple friends have updated to Leopard. If you have not and are thinking about it, do your self and favor and wait 2-3 months for the next update.

They Rock, not much else to say. Once you go Apple you'll never go back to a windows based PC. Leopard is now shipping installed on all of the new Macs. Its very stable for home use however I have run into a few networking problems which will be corrected in the next 2-3 months.

Take the time and do your self a big favor and watch this: http://www.apple.com/macosx/guidedtour/

Once you see some of the functions of the new OS you will see why people love their Macs

My main questions are if it runs "window's based programs."

For example, I need an office suite, also have to look into if it runs my MLS program. Kind of important.

You haven't even looked at Apple's web site have you

http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bootcamp.html

If your unsure of what is right for you take the time and hit the nearest Apple Store: http://www.apple.com/retail/macarthu.../20071125.html

There you'll be able to walk in and spend as much time you want playing with things. I'm always truly impressed by the people who work for Apple. And thats coming from a guy who has been an Apple user since 1982. They all seem to know the machines and programs inside and out. Their are many programs now that are built for both systems. I currently run "Boot Camp" on (3) G5 Mac's at work. I have 4-5 Windows programs running without any problems at all. When you buy that laptop, get the largest HD the thing will hold

My wife laughed at your comment, I'm not know as the type to do the research for electronics. I just like people to tell me what I want!

The only reason I am starting to look is because my current PC is about to die & trying to figure out what I should do.

Glen.
1st would be "Time Machine". Its sweet back up utility, all you need is an external HD
2nd is "Spaces" allows you to run multiple things in multiple windows and easily bounce back and forth.
3rd for you PC guys who just can't find your Windows App to run on a Apple is "Boot Camp"
As I said to Matt, check out: http://www.apple.com/macosx/guidedtour/ It should really answer most of your questions. For the $129.00 it cost for the upgrade, I think its well worth it for some of the new features you get. You guys have to understand I spend 8-10 hours a day on a Mac running Graphics programs, and anything that will speed up the performance of my box is worth its weight it gold. Not that the Macs I'm running are slow, to the contrary, my newest box has 16 Gigs of Ram and 3TB internal storage. Its a speed demon, but every little things helps.

I still save if you have the time go to an Apple Store and check them out 1st hand. I bet if you end up with a new Mac within the next few months your going to wonder why you did not buy one years ago. Some of my friends call me "Father Mac", that is I have converted a lot of them from Window's to Apple user's.
