Sounds like us. Lunch here with the in-laws, just finished and cleaning up now. Then to my parents in an hour.

Fat, Happy and Lazy now.

It's a Pinks Marathon on Speed... Great show. I might last another hour before I fall out.

Maybe doing some striper pre-fishing this Saturday, it'll only be blowing thirty or so from the NE, so we feel like we might be able to get around in the sound.

Happy Fat Turkey Day everyone!

Stick me with a fork I'm done.

I think the chocolate pie pushed me over the edge.

Chocolate pie for Thanksgiving? Lester, that's wrong. You're supposed to save that for Christmas to eat when they offer Mince and Fruitcake.

Fruitcake! The thought makes me not feel good. You take a perfectly good cake and fill it with red and green **** that is halfway between bitter and petrified and then you serve it with a smile. Why not toss the "glaced" fruit in the trash where it belongs and pour in some rum instead. Let them it cake!

Reminds me of a true story that happened a couple of years back....

The postman brings a box to my door - cool~ It's from my oldest brother that lives 60 miles south of us (Irving). Wow~ that's odd. We usually don't really exchange gifts. I open it up and to my shock - it's a FRUITCAKE shaped like Texas ~ Well....the boys and I finally make it down to his house for a visit and his wife, Pam, asks, "Did you get the gift we sent?" I say, "Yeah.....that was real "nice" of you. ....Are ya'll MAD at me!??" She and Mark looked kinda funny and said, "No, why??" I reply, "You sent me a FRUITCAKE.....for Christmas~! I figured I'd done somethin' to chap you off." Mark says, "Why no....we thought you LIKED fruitcake." I had to remind him that THAT'S the gift you give someone when you DON'T like 'em! I then said, "In the future, if you're gonna send somethin' to eat - make it CHEESECAKE!"

Anyway, we all got a good chuckle out of it and last year we got a REGULAR fruit box from Harry & David.

We had punkin too, but it wasn't granny's so I went for the chocolate.

Oh God , fruit cake stories . We had a very close family member carry on for weeks about this ultimite totally awesome FC , well we got it in and took it home .
We were then driven nut by the older women about how it was and it is the greatest in the world bla , bla, bla. So we took it back to here house a few weeks later for an after dinner treat AND made her eat a piece of the super duper cake .

She couldn't finish the 1st piece , thru it away and we NEVER heard another word about FC's.

I sure do miss my grandma though.
