Default Carpet Installation.

Not sure if anyone will know, but I figured I would ask.

I just called a local company to ask them about a carpet install. I asked them if they would give me the price on the carpet I had installed at my old house and what he said was $24.95 / square yard.

Well the room I need to get carpet installed in is 21 x 23 so that is 483 Square Feet which works out to around 53 square yards.

Which makes the install about $1,400. Is that expensive.

What I"m wondering is, is $24.95 /square yard for carpet, padding & install expensive. I do not believe we are buying the most expensive carpet, but it is a nice cut pile with a fleck (I think that's the term)

Any advice would be appreciated.

One of our best friends is in the business. I should see him tomorrow. I may be able to see how your prices compare to our area. If you throw in room, board, & a fishing trip, I would be willing to bet he would consider a long distance job. Lester & I can be his helpers.

Honestly though, it sounds like a fair price.

The price is about on par with the prices up here. Nothing wrong with getting a mid grade carpet. What the warranty that comes with it?

Warrany? I think the fact that I have 2 yellow labs would void any warranty .

Also, wait I'm not the neatest person in the world either!
