Costa Rica is awfully good for billfish and Mahi mahi, but the best time I ever had was in Manado, Indonesia, where we set a fish trap for chambered nautilus in about 1500 feet of water. We paid two guys $20.00 to watch the trap in the pouring rain overnight. We pulled the trap up in the morning and had six nautilus, several weird fish and a bunch of eels. The crew went nuts for the eels and we took the nautilus to the reef and turned 'em loose to photograph them underwater. The fishing in Indonesia is not all that good, because there is a lot of sustanance fishing that goes on.

The best pure fishing trip I ever took was to Kodiak Island in Alaska. I took three ice chests. At the end of the first day, they were full. Two of us plugged the boat with slamon, halibut and ling cod. On my list of good things to eat, Wahoo is number one, followed by Ling cod, Salmon and Mahi Mahi. If I fish for it it has to be something I am going to eat. And, for those who ask: I have eaten chambered nautilus and it is excellent. It is a relative of the squid, so you have an idea.

Madeira, Ghana, Brazil. Looking for the biggun! It's gonna be awhile but I'll make it as soon as I get the money.

Alaska, Hawaii, or down in Cabo................ would love to go to these places whether I got to fish or not.

I've been lucky enough to boat, snorkle, and fish in the south China Sea. (WOW! What a place!) as well as the Gulf coast and a small section of Southern California (That's the Pacific area).

My dream, to fish all the Oceans and to tell the story

I can help you on the Hawaii part, just as soon as I get the boat done and get it there in one piece.

Another Tuna trip on the EXCELL out of Southern Cal. When I lived there years ago I did a few longrange trips and many weekend trips. I fell in love with tuna fishing there when the Tiagras were the hot new reel. My biggest Tuna there was just over 150lbs but always want to boat one over 225. There is nothing like the Chaos on the deck of a long range boat when everyone is hooked up to monster YFTs!!!
