What gives - line order - Boating & Fishing Information and Reports Forum

I and several friends ordered line from Berkley (excuse me Pure Fishing) months ago. We got a UPS tracking number, but it shows the product never left the company. So what the heck is going on?

??? Berkley is Pure - Pure is where we ordered it - directly with the mfgr.

We've already contested it with Amex and they had not received a response from Pure as of last week. So now I need to find another line manufacturer for our specific needs. I put out feelers to Maxima and Ande this week.

I thought you'd have some info about Berkley's operation and WHY they aren't shipping. I wonder how many dealers are having the same problem?

I can sympathize with you. We've had orders stacked up over there for several months with no resolution. Word I have is that Pure CEO moved everyone out of the old Berkley headquarters to South Carolina, and moved distribution from Iowa to Kansas City. The new distribution center had major problems. Then the CEO got fired and the VP of Marketing resigned leaving the company in a lurch. We are told the orders should be out in another month, but I'm not holding my breath.

Jarden is trying to buy everything it can lay its hands on. But Shimano beat them out of PowerPro and Rapala clocked them out of Sufix.

I just gave an order for Maxima service spools to my local dealer, b/c he gave up trying with Pure/Jarden.

How do you like the Maxima? I haven't used it in many years - mainly b/c we couldn't find it.

Followup on my "Legend" posting. Bob Hoose - Pure's Cali rep, finally got the powers in Iowa to ship it. We rec'd it last week. Geez it was a long time in coming!
Glad Capt. Ron didn't need it right away.
