FISHING ENTHUSIASTS from all over the country participated in the First Annual Outer Banks FairWeather Fest on June 5 through June 8, to help raise money for the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD). More than 50 participants raised $2,000 for the organization, which is focused on providing the best pediatric care in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. Pictured are (from left) Chris Smyers (Kill Devil Hills), Matt Myatt (Southern Shores), Lea Ternes (CHKD), and Dave Wigginton (Nags Head). Plans for next year’s event already are underway.
