Default Tragedy Averted

Had a close call yesterday. I was about to leave for an appointment when I decided to get some mahi out of the freezer in the basement so we could have it for supper. I opened the lid on the freezer and everything was starting to thaw! 30 year old piece of crap freezer had croaked!!

Well, I've got about 5 minutes before I've got to leave so I grab some trash bags and pull all the food out of the basement freezer and put it in the bags. That way I could get to the important stuff. My Ballyhoo! I've got a case of mediums and a case of horse that I just got from Baitmasters a couple of weeks ago.

So I rush the ballys upstairs to the fridge freezer, pull all the food out of that freezer and throw it on the kitchen floor. Stuff that freezer to the gills with the ballyhoo, throw the ice tray bucket and most of the frozen food into the sink and I'm on my way!

Had to leave Bev a message explaining the carnage but I knew she'd understand.

All's well that ends well.

I know the feeling. Last time I lost a freezer full of fish, I only new something was wrong by the pool of fishy smelling liquid on the floor. Nothing was saved.......

Yup, that would have been a real bummer if I had not checked it when I did. I don't go in there more than once a week or so. It would have been real ugly in a few days. YUK!

Lost a freezer a few years ago with over 100lbs of fish and bait. One whiff locked the door and to the dump it went!! Didn't even consider getting it fixed....Just got my order from Baitmasters a few weeks ago. I check on the freezer every few days!!... Cant loose my Ballyhoo and Squid. Fred glad to see you have your priorities straight!!!!!....Mark
