Well, you've got two groups at work that are proven to F up everything they touch.........the govenment and so-called enviromentalists. What did you expect? Anytime politicians get involved its for the wrong reasons and they usually go in the wrong direction. Environmentalists would rather see the poor starve rather than offend their delicate sensibilities of what is pure and pristine. They don't care how many folks they put out of work either if it means acheiving some obscure goal of little value. It doesn't matter that they can't prove that their solution can indeed 'fix' the so-called problem or even has a reasonable chance for success. They just want to be judged by their intentions. Most americans want results, not good intentions.
They're almost always misguided since this group is driven by emotion rather than science. They rely on bad science or none at all because they're willing to listen to any huckster or guru that supports their point of view. Rachael Carson's 'Silent Spring' written in 1961 has led to millions of deaths from malaria around the world as a result of banning certain insecticides thought to cause problems which were later found to be the result of PCB's not pesticides.
Remember the banning of Alar? That's another well orchestrated scam based on bogus science later proven to be totally bogus and out of context from a poorly credentialed scientist operating out of his field of expertise. Too bad about all those folks at Uniroyal who lost their jobs a result. The same thing is going on with this global warming BS. Somebody stands to make a lot of money over it. Wouldn't be ALGORE would it??????

Yep, this Ethanol from corn and soybean bubble is totally ineffieicent and will probably do more harm to far more people around the world than it does any good. For now it sure is helping my industry but that bubble will burst like they all do. I give it two to three years before this madness ends and we move on to the next in thing.
