Default calling all DR,S nurses or pediatricians

hey i have a new nephew and he is 12 days old and we have a ongoing arguement as to if its ok to give a baby that young "malacon" (medicine to help with gas)

we are waiting on a call back from the babys DR but i wanted to see if any of you had this come up b4???

Stephen , is that , Mylicon if it is thats baby gas-X and its good for every feeding.

My daughter [ mother of 2 babies, 9 months and 2 years ] says to try , Enfamil Gentlease and its in the purple can.

Also ceck the Enfamil web site it has all the info. almost like a medical web site .

we used it on our kid when he was an infant.

just make sure you follow the appropriate dosages when they are that small

just found this on their website so i guess the argument is over

shake well before using
all dosages may be repeated as needed, after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Do not exceed 12 doses per day.
fill enclosed dropper to recommended dosage level and dispense liquid slowly into baby's mouth, towards the inner cheek
dosage can also be mixed with 1 oz. of cool water, infant formula or other suitable liquids
clean dropper well after each use - recap bottle with original cap

AGE WEIGHT Infant’s MYLICON® Drops
Newborn ------------- 0.3mL
Infants
under 2 years Under 24 lbs 0.3mL
Children
over 2 years Over 24 lbs 0.6mL

Stephen ~ what are the symptoms the baby is having? Just wondering.

My eldest developed colic at around 3-4 weeks of age and had it until he was 3 mos. Ugh.... such "fun" times. Ha! The Mylicon might help the baby but a stiff shot or two of Jack Daniels will help out the parents. Ha!!

Tell them to remember ~ "This too shall pass".... and aren't we THANKFUL!~ Hee!
