Heebie Jeebies!!!

Well, guys, just killed my first snake of the year. AFTER the SOB slithered up my bare flip flop wearing leg. Damn I had to make a run to the store and put one foot in the grass(truck is on concrete pad) and when I did felt something slither up my leg. Have you ever seen an earthworm go crazy? That's what this snake did. I sorta shook my leg, jumped in the truck, dropped my keys on the concrete(great) and proceeded to blow the horn trying to get the wife's attention so she could bring a light and a shovel. Of course she didn't hear me. Finally got the nerve up to reach down and grab the keys, crank the truck up and pull up. In the process, I ran over the snake fortuanlly. Man, I've got the heebie jeebies right now. What kind of snake has an orange belly, with diamond shapes on it's body. Pretty sure I know what it was, but I wanna see if i'm right.

I think it was either a juvenile copperhead or a red bellied water snake. Right now it's a DEAD SNAKE!!
