Ok I just read this thread for the first time and because I'm thinking I'm one of the original members (probably top 50 in October) and am in the record book for most users on-line at once, I thought it's time to introduce myself. I am Rick H. from Pgh., Pa. Yes, landlocked Pgh.! Introduced to saltwater fishing Island Beach, NJ from the surf and jetty when I was railroaded (transferred) there by my former employee for two years in 1984. Pretty much haven't looked back since. Used to be a devout freshwater trout and bass fisherman until I hooked that first striper off the jetty. Started with a 14' starcraft, then a 20 ft. CC, and now own a 24 ft. WAC. Everyone of those boats my wife Cindy agreed is the last boat I'll ever buy. Have 2 kids in college, son at Kent St. and daughter at local CC. I try to get to salt at least 3 times a year for a week each. This year I'm shooting for 4. Am in the construction matls. business hence the name SENERGY (the brand name of my primary line). People think we're stupid yankees everywhere we go cause we tow ungodly distances. 28 hours straight to the Keys, 12 hours to Hatteras or Lookout, 12 hours to Cape Cod. It's taken a few years but with the help of people like the ones on this forum (Capt. Fred comes to mind) we pretty much figured the fishing out and have the times of our lives. Oh yea, I just have to mention every time we go "there is always an incident"! I plan on writing a book someday sorta like Hemingway on SNL. Don't post a whole lot because most people know more than I do about boats and fishing but the length of this one should get me to GREENHORN??!!

Bump on this thread!

We have a lot of new guys & gals here. I know many have started new threads telling us about them which is great, but many are still "unspoken."

Please take a few minutes and tell your new friends at TBR about yourself!

Matt

Hey Guys (and Gals), I'm a native of Norfolk, Va, just an hour & 1/2 up the road from
the OBX. I've been very active in the fishing scene from hampton roads to the OBX
since childhood (appx 50 yrs). No more commuting, I live here now. After many years
of involvement in fishing clubs in so/east Va, I discovered there were no fishing clubs
on the OBX for the primary interest of the SMALL BOAT FISHERMAN.
Check the local papers, ALL the focous is on Surffishing, Pier Fishing & Offshore...
No Problem, I know that's what pays the bills down here. But that dosen't mean there
shouldn't be something out there for the benefit of Small Boat Anglers. Therefore,
I'm the one who started the OBX ANGLERS CLUB. We're only 4 months young, but...
Attendance has been great, and we're having fun. Come check us out, we meet on
the last monday of ea. month at the Sea Ranch Hotel in KDH...next meeting is 7m,
07/28.....every day is SUNNY on the OBX, hope to sea you,
Stu (fishobx)

Hi All! My husband and I are from Ashland,Va and try to fish Hatteras all we can. Have a 14' V bottom that we take out around here and fish all we can. We will be in Nags Head last wk of Sept., and then Buxton(nc) the week after. Fishing is good food for our souls--Hatteras is the gravy. Thanks for letting me post. jamnstv

Thanks! I always look for sites that seem to have a lot of info and experience. We only get to Hatteras for 2 weeks a year but ever since my husband took me there(12 yrs ago) I'd like to live there forever! Thanks again. The Gulf always looks like good fishing but too far for us right now. jamnstv
