Default Hello everbody new to this forum

Hello everbody. Just wanted to introduce myself I'm mike I live in Sitka Alaska and love to fish and hunt and run boats. I've been a charter boat skipper in Sitka Alaska for 12 years and like going after the Big Kings. I found this web site the other da and it looks pretty cool.

Hey mwf73,,,,,I'm Rodger and I just found this recently myself. I'm from Ketchikan, live on Camano Island in Washington now. I lived in Sitka in '71' and '72' working on the Green Lake Dam. Did an awful lot of good fishing around those parts..some of the best I've ever had, welcome

not a lot of them left. occasionally somebody catches one over 300. I've heard of only a couple of 300+ caught this summer. 425 is this summers big fish. lots of big Kings this year and there all here now. just the other day we got a 50 and a 43. the day before a 48. yesterday a guy lost one over 60. ussually the big guys show up mid July this year everything is about 2 weeks behind.

They just caught a 65 at Noyes Island there west of Craig. That's a nice one....nice to know they're still around. That big Halibut I caught we figure was closer to 400 but it's really unclear because we didn't keep it. We had no way to get it in the boat we were in, it was just too big so we took pics and let it go. It was easily 8' long, possibly 9. It laid on top of the water next to the boat for 10 minutes before we finally cut the line. I caught it on a home made jig that I made out of stainless steel dowel. I caught 3 kings on the same kind of jig bottom fishing that same day and 1 giant red snapper. One of my best days ever fishing up there...
