Default Newbie from Montana

Hi all, Matt here from deep woods Montana. I have an old J10 Jeep truck - burns old gas and a 28 Bertram about the same age - 1977! We fish in Puget Sound in the Fall and Flathead Lake in the Spring. Rig is set up for halibut and lake trout.

I'm a logger and truck driver by trade, having driven steel trucks in the midwest before moving west to the oil and logging biz in Wyo and Mont.

Matt,
Alright someone from Montana!! I'm not from there but hunt Montana quite a bit. I just had a good friend I used to hunt with that lived in Bigfork pass away this year. His place is on the northern end of Flathead lake. I have been going to Montana for the past 20 years or so. We used to hunt the Missouri Breaks when no one hunted it. It is gotten way to crowded over the past ten years or so. We now hunt in Beaverhead down around Dell. Welcome to the site!!! Mark

I hunted for many years in Colo and Wyo before settling in the Swan. I prefer more open territory like Eastern Mont, Wyo and NM. There isn't hardly a day when I can't see elk - but deer forget it. I haven't seen deer in two years, exc as road kill. I fish out of lower Swan and Flathead at Yellow Bay. That Moppie makes for pleasant trolling.
