So, I have a question. How many of your boats weigh more than 6000# but uses a 2" ball. My boat fully loaded weighs in at about 7500#. I have a 6000# receiver and 6000# ball. Anyone have experince with this??

You are not legal in that situation, to go over that you need a Load Leveler hitch and if ya want to get serious a goose neck.
I would say that 90% of the boat trailers are not legal going down the road.
Read the owners manual , a 2" reciever is good for 5K and a 2 1/2" reciever is good for 6K and it dont mater if these are on a F150 or a F350 truck .
The 2 5/16" Balls that you see stamped 10K, 20K or 30K are for GOOSE NECK applications not so called Bumper pulls.
On towing Boat trailers we like 7 to 8 % toung weight and normal trailering we like 10% .
If we use the 10% rule and were pulling a 7.5K boat that would be 750Lbs on the ball [ Most truck bumpers are rated at 500 lbs toung weight ] now add people coolers and other stuff, well, on your 1/2 ton truck your over loaded.
But hey it will do it right , I only go a few miles and its flat ground and there is a built in safety factor , yea I'll be ok.
