It has been really busy around my house over the past month. My son made the Dare County All Star team in 7-8 year old baseball this year. Since I helped coach his team during the regular season I decided to help with the All Star team also. We have been practicing four days a week for the past month. We finally played our district tournament this week. Our first game was Wed. against our county rival OBX. They whipped out butts 16 to 3. It was ugly. Lucky for us it was a double elimination tournament. We played again on Friday at 3:00 against Beargrass. We beat them 16 to 3. We then played another game later that evening at 7:00 against Gates County and we whipped them 16 to 1. The boys were crushing the ball both games. Both games we were down by 8 or more runs in the fourth inning and made a hell of a comeback. My son Zane knocked his first home run in the second game. I was sooo proud of him. The next game was yesterday at 3:00 agaist Camden. This was a tight one. We pulled it out 14 to 13. That game was too tight for comfort. We turned around thirty minutes after we finished that one and played another one. This game would determind who would play in the championship game Sunday. We were playing OBX again. The same team that beat us three days before 16 to 3. Our boys came out swinging and so did team OBX. It was a battle to the end. WE WON 14 to 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We turned around and played Currituck today for the championship at 2:00. Currituck was undefeated for the tournament. Our boys played their hearts out once again but we came up a little short. We lost 12 to 8. We may have lost but we qualified for the state tournament. We leave Tues evening for Kinston for the playoffs. It have been a long five days but what a thrill.
GO DC !!!!!
