Default Pensacola

The wife and I went to Pensacola a few weekends ago and made a couple of dives. We dove the Pete Tide II and the Russian Freighter. Both dives were great with very good viz of about 50'. We encountered our first Shark on the Pete Tide II, a sand shark was crusing around and swam within about 10' of us. A few of the other divers were trying their luck at spearfishing and came away with 2 AJ's. Definately something I want to try my hand at sometime this summer.

We are planning a trip to Honduras this April with the dive shop in Diberville as well if anybody has info. on the area.

Choclabs01,

Glad you had a good time. Now, where are your pictures?

Did you guys have the opportunity to dive the Mighty 'O' (USS Oriskany)?

They didnt run to the Oriskany that weekend but it sounds like an awesome dive. I'm sure we will find our self's out there this spring.

We didnt get any pics, We forgot the camera. Have not purchased a underwater camera yet but hopefully we will have one soon.

The mighty O looks like a boat yard on a good day. You can dive the tower with just sucking O2.

Choclabs...

You should try the old Breath hold method when you get ready for the spearing..You'll get alot closer to big fish

The tanks are awesome for getting thos e great down times and exploring, but when it comes down to the spearing grab a mask, gun and take a deep breath..see how far down you can go and shoot a biggen..You'll be hooked for life

Check this video out from Sept when we went out "Blue Water Hunting " for African Pompano in a 120 ft about 12/13 miles out( or So)..Got up close to a 9-10ft,250-300lb Hammer Head..It was a mighty interesting day..

The vid should begin to play on it's own and if you double click the middle of the play screen, than it will go to full screen
