Default Dont you just hate it........

When you have all these neat projects you have lined up and nothing goes right!!! GEEEEZ!!
Well I had a few projects that I started this week and all was fine till today. First I had started on the New spot light project. Made a great removable mount and installed it and the remote control for the spotlight early in the week. So today I started to wire it got the power cable pulled from the light to the cc pretty quickly. Then started to run the remote cable. Well the remote cable is about ten feet to short so I had to stop midstream on this project. Went in and ordered a another remote cable so I will have to wait until next weekend to finish the Spotlight project.
I also installed a new open array radar scanner, radar mount, and power supply earlier in the week. So yesterday and today worked on the wiring. This is the third radar I have installed on different boats and running the radar cable does not ever get any easier. An hour later and lots of lube I finally snaked the cable through the pipework. Of course then I had to rewire the External radio speaker and the video mount power cable as well as move the white all around navigation light. Finally today had the radar ready to go. Powered up went through the setup all OK except the array does not ROTATE!!! Double and triple checked all the connections and everything is done by the book. Still no joy on the radar. Back to the computer to send Simrad a e-mail for tech support!!. SO I took a break and went to Lowe's to get two new fluorescent tubes for the garage,,,,,,,Got the wrong ones!!!!! I think I will stay inside the rest of the evening and watch fishing show reruns!!!! Looking forward to tomorrow so I can go to work and relax!!! Mark

Or ..... go insatll a bilge pump that should take 5 minutes and because of where the manufacture placed it when they built the boat...takes you %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% 5 hours.

Yes sir install everything and then slap the deck or cap on the boat!! Then let the owner deal with it... I remember when I put the B260 transducer in. I pulled the old transducer and thought I would sell it....NOT... It was installed at the factory and they coiled up the excess cable and attached it under the deck with wire holds!! Needless to say that transducer wire coil is still under the deck..

Back at work today No stress here!!! Mark

Thanks Mark. It makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one who has days like that!

Thumbs down

Climbed up on the t-top for the 20th time but this time armed with a multi meter. All the different voltage going into the array from the radar cable checked out perfect. The only thing that did not pass is the two power leads from the circuit board to the array motor. Looks like this brand new array will be headed back to Simrad....... What a pain in the A$$ . One more trip back up to do the un-install.................. CRAP...................Mark

Man that's tough Mark. Hopefully they will correct it and get it back to you pronto. Hopefully I'll get the remaining electronics in this week and can get the rigging finished in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Spoke with the charter lakes folks at the boat show. They are going to do a quote for me. Met the dealer who has the "other" boat and gave him some cushions that were on it.

I ended up with a open array 4kw. Since I got it back it has worked flawlessly. Apparently something had come loose during shipping and it was a "SIMPLE FIX" that took 3-4 months for Navico to even look at!! Geese!! I wanted a 6kw but couldn't find one for the Simrad CX44E. Since Simrad was bought out by Navico they quit making the regular arrays for the CX series and are just making the HD arrays. The 4kw works great for my needs.....Mark
