Default How it works....Holiday Edition!!!

I the next few days TBR (The Burning Reel) will be adding a few items (1 as of now) to auction off. The money raised from these auctions will go to help support TBR along with 10% going to towards charities.

Since it is the holiday season I think we should help out some families in need. My thoughts are to use the percentage that we make from now until Christmas to go towards helping out a family in need! So here's what TBR will do.

1. From now until December 17th (so we can get them the money or gifts) all items sold 50% of the sale price will be used to help out a family in need. That's right if a reel sells for $50 then $25 to TBR, $25 to the Family Fund, if an offshore trip sells for $500 ($250 to TBR, $250 to a family in need). If we are able to raise enough money we will add additional families.

2. I know that all of use are not from the same area, so if someone has a family that they are already helping out great, if not we can work together to find a family in need.

3. I would like to make this a yearly tradition. Let's be honest all of us on this board are very blessed & in this is the time of year to help others out.

So Here's How this Works.

1. Members who would like to donate an item contact me. I then place the item up on this forum (with a note / banner add if it's a company) of who donated the item.
2. Members who are interested in bidding will then go into a forum and bid the amount they are willing to pay for the item.
3. If additional members would like to bid on an item that has already received bids then they just post the amount they want to bid (higher than the previous high bidder - increments of $5.00)
4. Holiday Items will run up till the Cut of Date of the 17th!

So if the current bid is $25, the next bid will be $30 and so on.

High Bidder wins & we will then arrange payment & shipping.

Contact me with any questions! Happy Bidding.

Matt

Updated....

I just called a local organization (Outer Banks Women's Club) who handles the "Angel Gift Progam" for another organization I am a member of.

She told me that all money & gifts must be donated by no later than December 7th, so it looks as if I won't be able to donate the 50% to Holiday Families in Need.

So here's what I will do instead, I will keep the money made off these auctions in a special account and after the 2008 FairWeather Fest I will at that point combined all money that was raised for charities and donate it at one time.

Hope that is ok?

Is that cool with everyone?
