Got skunked today, water was dirty and the conditions were bumpy (small craft adviseries) but with the intent of pulling the boat for the season today I decided to give one last try. Didn't mark much of anything in terms of bait to jig on so trolling seemed to be the best idea, had a knock down at 65' depth 47* but never hooked what ever it was that was half hungry. Funny looking around at the handful of boats that headed out Barnegat today and realizing that you're one of the smallest ones....
Last Saturday (12/6/08) found some strong bait marks in 55' to 65' of water, between the fast drift and the light weight jigs on board it was tough to stay on the bottom so a switch to trolling made sense. Boated 42 bass with only a handful of legal sized ones all on the troll. Multiple hookups on umbrella rigs were quite common.
The Ragged Edge II is now sitting on the trailer waiting for the cover to go on and anticipating the spring bunker run. Have a great winter everyone, I'm going snowboarding now....
