Went out of Shark River today. Blues and bass everywhere within a mile of the inlet. There were large schools of bait.. either rainfish or spearing they were feeding on. My son and I boated 6 bass and a dozen or so blues. They were all 27-33". There was no wind at all and it was a lake out there. Whenever a bass broke the surface we could cast a jig right to the spot and pick one up.

Thats very nice to hear maybe they are finally on. I hope to hit either the Harbor or Raritan Bay this weekend!! Where u throwing anything else beside jigs?

I was throwing finS, storms, deadly dick, hopkins, krocodiles, crippled herring, and avas. The bass were all taken on the kroc, dd, and the cripled herring. They didn't take the eels my son was fishing or any rubber. Of course the eels didn't last too long in the water with blues in the area. I'm heading out Monday again. Gotta get'em when the getting is good. I was going to head out tomorrow but it's looking sloppy for tomorrow.

Thanks for the info. Good Thing about the Ny harbor is that is protected from the wind.

Got out today. 3 hours 10 blues and 3 stripers. Largest blue 10lbs and largest striper 23" about 6lbs. Caught everything on bomber and rapala stick baits casting.

I went just outside of shark river today and got 8 bass and 30 blues. The biggest bass was 27". It was a great day but still looking for the monster. 2 of the bass hookups were double-headers. A blue on the teaser and a bass on the jig.

Guys in RI are still picking up fish from the surf and boats so there still should be fishing heading your way.

got out again today....(2) stripers in the boat (not keeper size) and (2) came off......No blues.

Got out today......About 20 stripers all short except one that went 28.5". Most were caught on stretch 20's between the Verazzano Bridge and the Stu Libby on the Brooklyn side of the main channel breaks. Jigged a few up as well on ava's, bucktails and crippled herrings but most were trolled. No bluefish!! Lots of action and lots of fun. Ny harbor was like a lake.

Almost that time of year again. I hear they are catching them right now in Raritan Bay. Tomorrow i will head south to clean the boat up to hopefully get her wet next weekend in the NY Harbor. I hope their still biting!
