Default 2007 Manteo Rockfish Rodeo..

I know, the stakes are high seeing the water temps and the fishing lately....But we're talking about 9 Grand on a 100$ entry....

Just searching about to see who is entered or who is planning to enter.

(I WANT TO KNOW WHO I"M UP AGAINST)...cough cough....

Getting every last bit of info I can before I commit.....

The rules and Tourney results are here:

FWIW, My boat will share fishing knowledge with your boat if your out there.....

Default rodeo

Chris Iam thinking about doing the Rodeo. Depends on "if" fish show up and a crew. Would prefer to fish the Ocean category, but I am not much on "eeling the shoals"....Therefore the charter boats have a big advantage..
regards,
dave

OK, so far it's me and my 10 year old, Braxton, plus a USCG captain who has fished here his whole life and runs striper charters, plus maybe one, so I'm just gettin the crew together.

I can fish 5 comfortably in my boat.

Costs would be $150 Tourney fee for the day, plus maybe $40 fuel if I run wide open throttle between the three bridges I plan on fishing.

Don't think I'll be doing an ocean side with eels on the shoals, too risky if the shoals are bad.

All tackle provided, just need a guy with some experience fishing for the rock, with jigs, bucktails and live eels.

TLD 25's, 15's and medium spinning gear, mostly circle hooks, etc.

Lines in at 6am, out by 2pm, weigh in at 4 pm, don't worry about cleaning the boat.

Anyways, pm me or give a call on the cell phone during business hours...

Country boy, Capt Ronnie Pierce from Currituck, owns a '74 Pacemaker docked in Point Harbor. Knows all the holes in the sound.

Chris, if I was good enough I would come down and fish with ya'll. Sounds like you got the making of a good crew. If it comes down to it though let me know man.

Live in P-town, so it wouldn't take me long to make the drive.

Roger Ron, will keep you in mind for last minute...

It's a 1:45 hour drive from you to me each way at 55 mph.

I know, I've driven it a whole lot.

You want in, it's not rocket science you know?

When was the last time you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express? It's not SKA, BTW....

Chris
