Default Mattamuskeet 12/1

Went with a buddy to his impoundment Saturday near the lake. Had a pretty decent hunt, but didn't see the big birds I was expecting. Either way it was good to get out of the swamp and into a blind for once this year...Wind didn't really start to pick up until around 9:00. We ended up with 15 birds, and I think our other group had 12 or 13, mostly ringnecks. It was wild how many woodies were in this corn by the coast but it really saved our hunt.
8 woodies
3 pintails
2 teal
drake mallard
shoveler

Recent storm knocked all this corn down...Looked like a tornado rolled through or something.

If all the corn was pushed down in the same direction in that path through the corn it was probably something like a micro burst. We had those during Hugo and it looked like a bulldozer went through the pines. They varied in size from very narrow to over 100 yards wide. We thought they were tornado paths until the weather guys came through looking at the damage and told they were micro burst or micro cells. Basically a really bad storm inside of another.

Micro burst or tornado - I wouldn't want to be in the the path either! Yikes.

Thanks for sharing the photos.
