Default What gun

OK , You can only buy one rifle and one shotgun [ over the counter ] what would you buy and WHY.

I choose ..........

#1 a 30/06 rifle [ my Ruger #1 -1B ] cause I can pick up ammo anywhere and it will take anything in North America.

#2 a remington 870 Wingmaster , cause they just work.

- Remington 270 because it's all the gun I need around here

- Though the 870 is my back up and a damn good back up, I'll choose my Beretta 390 DU edition (hasn't jammed on me yet!)

-I don't think the Xtrema II or the Benelli super black eagle 2 are too shabby themselves either but hey, support what ya got

Browning Abolt-stainless-7mm mag with Leupold 3.5x10x50

I have many rifles but this is by far my favorite even though my BAR 270 would be hard to turn down

Shotgun-hands down SBE, I love my other guns but most of my shotgunning is for ducks and these things are perfect and love 3.5 shells

SBE all the way (I have a Nova because I'm an underfunded college kid...but I get to shoot my dad's friend's SBE from time to time and love it).

Really only use rifles where I'm from for plinking and varmint hunting, so I'd say a .22/250 Savage...or something of that nature.

Marlin 30/30, lever action - Handles anything I am planning on shooting at, plus, ammo anywhere. It's killed everything I have ever shot it at. 'Course, I hunt in swamps and there is no shot longer than about 60 yards. I've had this gun since I was 14 and I am 39 now.

If I could go out and buy one tomorrow, I'd have a Browning 12 ga. However, I still have the Steven's 20 ga. pump I got when I was 9. It is light weight and throws a great pattern. Cannot complain one bit with it. I shoot left handed, so pumps and lever actions work well for me.

Default Which gun

I would choose the Ruger Mark II 270 because thats the gun I have used for about 17 seasons. I have killed a stack of deer with it and would not hesitate to take a 400 yd shot. My personal longest is 433 yds (took a few shots though). Along with a 140 grain accubond bullet you can't go wrong.

As for the shotgun I have used a Browning Pump for about 12 years and before that a Mossberg 12 ga. The BPS is OK but I may go to a Franchi 12ga auto. It's basically a Benelli without the price tag.

Good luck!!

a Ruger 7mm mag ss and Franchi 12 gauge auto. I think both are the most bang for your buck.
