Default 55" moose

We spent a few days up in Atlin, BC, looking for moose in October. The weather was far too warm and the bugs far too thick, but we still managed a nice bull.

This bull measured 55" across, and would have gone more but one of his tines was broken off. He had been fighting pretty steady and was all cut and bruised on his flanks. This is the best bull I have ever seen and taken, so I'm pretty pleased. Shot at 190 yards with a 338 Win Mag, 210 gr. Barnes Triple Shock.

Wow, what a monster. I don't know about Canadian moose but I know Maine moose are good!

Thanks guys, it was a pretty awesome trip. We saw caribou, wolves and my buddy got a sheep with his 13 year old boy. Doesn't get any better for him!

If you look back to the first picture, we called this bull from the far beach. He trotted along and stopped to rake everything in his path to get to us. Yes, we had a digital video camera too...with a dead battery. That was the only bad thing of the trip. Good thing is the memory is burned into my mind.
