"Mack the Knife" was a fish cleaner at Venice Marina who passed away last year.

Oh, man, sorry to hear that.

Was he a character? Sounds like he touched a few hearts, and made some lasting memories.

The last time I was there they had a new guy there cleaning fish. He did'nt sem to be to friendly but then he was a little busy cleaning a sh%t load of fish. He had about 8 coolers backed up.

Yes he was!

And man alive he was a master with those knives of his.

He had retired and wound up at Venice Marina cleaning fish "To have something to do".

HE livened up the cleanning station that is for sure.

I walked into the bar at VM last year and thought WTF! The place was packed and a priest was speaking so I backed out. I went into the store and aked what was going on and they said they were having his memorial service. He wanted everyone to have a Heineken in his memory and then they took his ashes out of South Pass and scattered them.

I wish I could have met him, sounds like quite a character.

Anyone got any stories they want to share about "Mack the Knife"?
