Default Venice, La. very windy

We had a cold day with wind blowing.

I took them to the end of the earth. We looked for gators but it was too cold and rough for them. After this was taken we went back to the house and put on warm cloths.

We left the marina after 9:00 am. Notice all the business they had today?

The ride down the river was cold. I hit some of the spillways and the water as not right.

Just before noon I decided to try to turn the corner at the mouth of the river and use the land for some protection. We hit one of my old stand-by rigs I call the gas pipe. It was red snapper on at once.

Mikes second fish was a nice white trout bigger than I got last week with craig and company. Mike came down with a headache so Phil and I played while Mike rested and play we did.

A chopper visited us while we were there.

I even got a bluefish. Phil asked me what kind of fish is this and when I turned around he was holding a very good sized lane snapper over the water. It was at that time I told him if he did not know just put it in the boat and then we will find out.

Due to Mike not feeling well we only spent 2 hours catching. I caught 2 redfish Phil caught 2 lane snapper I caught a pompano and a blue fish and Phill caught 3 sheepshead. All this was done while catching and releasing red snapper constantly. When we finished the 2 pounds of shrimp we came in.

A solid 2 hours of fun.

Welcome aboard Hoop, Boomer and I'll be seeing you down there again pretty soon now that it's starting to lay down some.

That big redfish was still alive and jumped off the peg before the picture. Does not get any fresher than that!

All you can handle if you like to catch big redfish on light tackle ... no rocks (mud bottom).

Had a 20 pounder on 10 pound mono and had to chase it with the big motor The trolling motor could not keep up with it. 45 minutes and over a mile chase I got it. That fish had the baddest additude I have ever seen.

That's what's great about Venice Hoop ... can't do it in FL, too many rocks to cut you off with light tackle.
