Anyone heard from Stephen..... or anyone else from that direction...????

Been watching the Weather Channel (Jim Cantore is my "hero" - Ha!) and while Gustav is by no means a wimpy storm at LEAST it's not a category 3-4-5....so far "just" a 2. Whew~!~!!! Hope things aren't torn up TOO badly along the coast. Yikes!

Not bad at all here on the home front. Red called me this morning and he's staying with relatives close to me.

OK yall the winds are starting to go DOWN here now. (Baton Rouge)

I am at the power plant. Got here Sunday around 3:30 pm and am STILL here. Hopefully I will be able to leave Tuesday moring.

Sustained winds got to around 60 mph here with the highest gust at 92 mph. Now they are down to the 30 mph range and still getting gusts to 55 mph from what I see on the "Real time" display. LOTS of rain.........

On the home front:

Spoke to Cathy about a hour ago. No problems at Mom and Dad's (Where she and two of our daughters are) other than no commercial power. But the genny is-s-doin it's thing.....

Have no idea about my house, and won't until I can leave the plant. I'll check on it then.

So we are "Okey dokey" for now........

As flat as it is down there do you guys think the water could push in as far as route 49? I was just looking at the map of that area and it seems like lots of small towns down below 49. Is Houma really only 10 feet above sea level? It looks like its 10 or 12 miles back from the Gulf.
