Default Dauphin Island Tuesday 5/6/08

Well where to start. I was supposed to go on an overnighter with my fishing partner Jason, with a couple of his buddies in OB on one of their boats. Only problem is I had to work until 11 pm and they were planning on leaving between 11-12 so it wouldn't be too bad, they were to shoot across the ditch and pick me up at DI and we would run to Ram Powell. Well Jason calls me about 7 o'clock and his buddies want to leave NOW and I can't get to DI until about midnight. Well shit, I had already cleared my schedule for Tuesday and I was looking forward to this, but I guess it was not meant to be. I make a few calls and round up a crew so I go home dejected. So I get up Tuesday morning and F@ck it I'm going fishing. So I load up the boat throw in some rods and head to the liquid gold station and put in $300 and head to the island. I was a little apprehensive about heading out by myself with NOAA and most everyone else calling for 2-4's but buoy weather said about a foot ( my personal preference) so turn on the Garmin WX and it said from .8-1.8 out past Patroniuos sp? so off I go. It was probably closer to 2-2.5 out of ESE and I'm heading SW so it wasn't a bad ride and the further I got the calmer it got (see videos below). I hit up a couple of close in spots for live bait with any luck so I take my 3 lbs of pogies and squid and a hand full of jigs and head out deep for the rocks 50-60 miles out. Caught about 30 Red Snapper and 2 Red Groupers and still had bait when I got home

Here are some pics and couple of vids, and pica from our trip a few weeks ago also.

Caught sh!t load of these

This is what you get when my wife starts taking non fishing pictures

Until the next trip, Lee

Looks like you had a great day on the water!

Lee, I sympathize with your non-fishing related photos. FJ does the same thing to me.
