Stellar day to fish offshore or anywhere for that matter. We left Cypress Cove Marina at 5:15 AM with two co-workers (one who has never been offshore) and made our way through the fog. On our first stop we put out three stretch 30's (2 pink and one red/white) because there was a murk layer on top of the clean water. Our first pass produced a nice Wahoo on the pink and that was it. We ran around a bit and jigged up one BF Tuna and we moved some more.
As we are making our first pass on another rig FishOn!! Not fighting like a Wahoo......Sluggin it out......AJ on a pink stretch 30????
We picked up the spread and dropped some butterfly jigs to finish up our limit with two fatties 40+ pounds.
We made our way back to where we started b/c the boat traffic had slowed up some and boy was that a good move. First pass....Double but we landed one. From then until 2PM I don't even know how many strikes we had but it was enough to pack every ice chest on the boat. And you can tell in the pics that it was slick.
My mouth is watering over those nice hoos!! I would love to have a big fat fillet to toss on the grille.
Glad you had a good day on the water!! Pretty work!
