Default Longboat Key Annual Trip - 10/16-10/20

My wife and I just finalized our annual Longboat Key get away for October for the 10/16 - 10/20. As always we will be staying at the Silver Sands Resort.

This year we will be celebrating my wife's 30th birthday and our best friends will be coming with us, which should make things even more fun!

Going to do the usual I think, snorkel, hang out on the beach, drink beer.

So here's where I need from you local area guys help out, and I figured I would post this now so you have some time to respond.

Usually we go to the Chart House for dinner one night which is excellent, but I'm wondering what other places in the area you would recommend, that I might have over looked in the past?

Also, any good outside "Tiki" type bars in the area I might have missed over the several years we have been going that are close to Longboat? All 4 people that are going enjoy the adult beverages so if we are partying we don't want to be driving too far as dont' want to limit anyones fun.

Oh yes, I was also asked to find out where to go to get a the BEST Grouper Sandwhich.

Finally, just in case I need them never did before but since we are going with good friends the beers might flow a little more, any cabs in the area. Would prefer to play it safe!

Thanks in advance guys.

Matt

Jeff,

I would love to do some night time snook fishing but as I said we are going to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday and it just happens to be our best friends (the wife) 30th birthday party also. So I have to check and see what the plans are.

We defintily have some time before we get there so I will let you know as it gets closer.

If we can't get together for some fishing you can always come have a beer with us on the beach!!!

Matt

Jeff,

My bad man, sorry I didn't get a chance to get up with you. Time flew while we were down there and just ran out of time before I knew it was over.

We will be back again soon! So I will let you know when!

The wife and I will be in Key Largo and Key West the same week. We're staying at the Marriot in Key Largo on the 17th and at the Crown Plaza in Key West the 18th & 19th. Not sure where we are staying on the way back. We'll be leaving and returning to our Jacksonville House.

So, any recommendations on what to see and do, places to eat?

, oops, just realized we weren't talking about the same month. We'll be there this month, November, DUH.

Hal
