Default Oregon Inlet 9/11

Be, Berry and myself jumped off my boat and went out Saturday on TagNStick. Big swells on the bar on the Inlet, couple charter boats dipped the bow..Fished around the 40950 in 50- 60 fathoms all day. Most of the fleet was north of us. We were 4/6 on white marlin all caught before 11:00 am. Nothing after that. I guess we should have moved on up the line but we were not hearing a lot on the radio and kept hoping.... Several boats way NE had 10 or 12 fish. A highlight for me was while our angler was fighting a white at the back of the boat I looked over and another white was slashing at a bait dangling from the long rigger. Be tossed a bait out and it swam around but would not bite.. Pretty cool sight. All in all a great day on the water with friends!
We saw Mark (offshore31) and Josh early and they also saw some marlins up north of us.

Dave we saw you out there on that beautiful boat!! What a ride. Looks different on the water than in the slip. The bar really sucked again!! We came under the bridge at 5:45 and the line had pretty much stopped at the bar or going extremely slow. I looked at Josh and we had the same thought!! Not again!! It was defiantly sporty with such a short period (seemed like a 4 second period) for about 40yds or so.
Anyway we ended up with just one Hot White that wanted to get hooked. I think it took five minutes to get him hooked up. He came up hard on the starboard teaser then switched to the port teaser and Chris dropped back to him with no joy. The White then switched back over to the starboard teaser and Josh dropped back and the White picked it up then dropped the bait. Then the fish went back over to the port teaser and Chris dropped back with no luck as the fish lit up on the port long rigger. I dropped the boat in neutral and dropped back the long, the white picked it up and I put the boat in gear and hooked it up.
It was the only White release for the day but it was a exciting one. Dave you did well with the 4 for 6. we were headed north but the better bite seemed to be back around the 930.

Did you hear Hog Wild out there !! It was funny listening to him he had some serious throttle issues. We e saw him spinning like a top at one point in the day!!.....Mark

Glad yall saw some fish! Seems like the bite has slowed but still fish around. Probably time to swing the focus back to tuna fishing- Sea Toy had a nice 189 pound yellowfin on saturday!

Dave and Mark, are you all using circle hooks? Just curious.

Alex we were using 7/0 J hooks but still drop back for a better hookup and to let the fish turn away. Mark
