Default Bluefin tuna feeding video

Found this on another site. Thought it was pretty interesting, especially since I didn't see them attempt to catch one. Sure wish we could do that with the yellowfin in our area!

Back in 1989 we were bottom fishing in my 31 Rampage in the north part of the Mud Hole (off of New Jersey) 182 ft when a trawler came by us and at that time he was lifing up his net. It just happened that I new the captain. With the 4 inch size restriction of the net they use all the small Ling were coming out of the net and floating to the top, there was a chum slik of fresh ling (we called them tuna candy) for about 2 miles. The 200 lb to 500 lb Bluefin were having a field day eating up the ling. So I get a hold Capt John asked if he was going to be back in the same area the next day and of course he said he was going to be around for as long the weather permitted. the next 3 day we landed 12 Bluefins with the smallest fish weighing 190 lbs and the biggest going 650 lbs. Back then you were allowed 1 per trip and we were only fishing 19 miles offshore. Now you do the math, at that time I was getting anywhere between $8.00 per lb up to $14.00 per lb pending on the condition of the fish. By the way the 650 lb fish is a story by its self. I would say that was probably the best 3 days of fishing I have had. It also cost me 4 grand to keep Capt John's quiet and not telling anyone what was going on and what we were doing. The fish dissappeared after 3 days.
