Default July 2009, Dry Tortugas - Fort Jefferson Trip - Boats, Fish & More !!!

I had the opportunity to join a friend on a three day trip to the Dry Tortugas last weekend. It was my second trip in two years and as usual it was a complete blast. In our group we had 14 people on 3 boats. Our boat caught just about every variety around including 5 species of Snapper, 4 species of Grouper, AJ's, Mahi, Bluefish, Shark, Sailfish, Bonita, & more. The second day we released many more keeper fish then we kept. The following are just some of the photos I took.

Very nice Jeff. That's something that I've always wanted to do on my boat. Maybe one day

Your boat could do that run easily during the summer.

It is 75 miles from Key West and then fiqure you'll run another 40 to 50 miles each day of fishing. So if you do one night you'll need fuel to run 200 miles.

In the YF 32 I was in we burnt 220 gallons for 2 days of fishing and the run back and forth.
