Default Splitting Costs- YFT Bite

Just trying to see if there's any interest at this point with this idea...

I really want to be able to get in on the yellowfin bite out of OI a couple days or so after it turns on this year. It shouldn't be that far off at this point.

I was wondering if anyone shared this interest and is trying to split costs for a trip that would be able to leave on pretty short notice. Could try and take my father's boat or a few other's around the inlet (dawiggs, offshore, blue).

I want to crush some tunas this year and think this is the forum to ask if anyone else wants in!

Let's hear it!

I'm always game, and I watch the reports and hear things around town.

The first problem is family, I can't leave them in a clutch with no help. Middle school homework usually leaves me dragging arse during the week. I have to get permission to disappear for a day.

The second problem is work, especially during pool heater season, which, ironically, is when the water starts warming and the tuna bust. Most of the time, if someone else hasn't tasked me to go out fishing with them the week before, I can squeeze a weekday in here and there.

So, to answer the question, yep I'm in, let's go fishing! In these instances, we should look for a weather window first, then check the reports, and see what we can get away with.

Crushing tuna's is simple, be in the right place, at the right time, with the right seas. It's that easy.

I am apprehensible about driving out on your big boat tho, I wouldn't know how to crew. I'd much rather offer up my boat where I know the systems, or offshore or dawiggs boat where I know what I'm doing. Those big convertibles take some getting used too.

All in all, I'm in Alex!

Yeah I'm really the same way on outboards actually. Especially when leadering because I'm not used to the motors being there. Otherwise its the same!

The only reason I mention my dad's boat is because we will fish and venture out on a snottier forecast if that's the way things play out. We'll just have to see how it works out but glad to have a couple people that want to go. I want absolute madness in the pit this spring!

I'm in as long as work doesn't get in the way. I can usually make a weekend trip or long weekend by watching the weather. Mid-week trip just requires a little better planning on my part. It's not just a day trip for me. But I'm game.

If the bite's happening, count me in. I can usually get away with just a little notice. And I usually have a spot or two on my boat

how would i learn to YFT fish? Id like to do the same thing you guys are speaking of, but im in south florida. The closest i can think of is either the Bahamas or up near West Palm beach with that famous captain Dwyer or something like that. Any suggestions? If this video is any clue, id have to say the snotty conditions would keep me in. But if they can be caught in nicer weather, then id love to do it. I have a 35cc.

Tunateaser, I would be interested in participating if their is room. Was thinking of bringing my boat up from Wilmington but would be easier to catch a ride on a boat that is there. 910-367-1039. Thanks!
