When we fish in the keys we do the same thing but we just keep wire zip ties on the boat. Just put 5 or 6 wire ties on and you will never have a stuck anchor....Mark

Tired it this week & here is my observations......
The chain when layed down along the shank restricted the anchor from full range of movement - not good!

The chain needs to be small enough to slide between the flukes & there needs to be more free play ( or bigger loop ) between wire ties so the anchor can bite on either side.........

And it needs to be done in an open position - not on a flat surface......( duhhhh! )
Will try attaching the front shackle, then placing the anchor in a biting position ( off a milk crate ) to see how the chain lies - before adding front & rear wire ties....

Please DON'T use this setup for overnight or unattended boats..............ICM

Nice setup for the anchor. Best description I've seen. Pulling the anchor off the boat next weekend to modify.

THANKS!
