Default Tying Wire

I've broke a few single strand leader eyes on eratic/hard pulling lures in the past ... thought i'd try something new.

I had fun tying this one ... might help.

Really nice looking wire tying.......But not sure I would trust that single strand wire on Trembler type lures ( as in the picture ). The lure's erratic side to side action might cause the wire to kink & could be an expensive mistake............

I use a short lenght of 7 Strand cable & crimp them for Wahoo fishing..........

Good luck.........ICM

I'm also skeptical of sevenstrand ... on our last trip Boomer had a big 16 oz Yo-Zuri Bonita rigged with 250 lb Sevenstrand Sevlon that sheared even with the crimp ... $$. My problem in the past was 60-80 lb wire on 6-8 oz lures ... 93-108 lb wire is ok.
I think #10. 131 lb will work with a double loop or nylon thimble for 16 oz lures.

Hey ICM .... have you seen any small nylon thimbles up your way?

Thanks

Red

Wish I could find some smaller nylon thimbles.

That wire rig looks like a winner.........

What sizes are you looking for?
I will check a few local tackle shops for you.......ICM

Thanks ICM

I'd like one a little smaller, 131 lb wire's .024 dia. same size as 40 lb mono.
This thimble's 3/8 wide - 1/2 long - 1/4 thick to accommodate 400 lb mono.
I like strength but also small as possible ... it looks like overkill to me.

Has anyone tried or seen this wire ?

Now available with a tough black nylon coating.
This NEW coating makes this leader material
exceptionally good for Shark and Tuna fishing.
Solid single strand stainless steel leader.

Thanks
