Default Guatemala, fishing report,18,20&21-sep-08

Hello to all,

here are a fishing report from Marina Pez Vela in the port Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala,

we fished the past weekend, not many boats fishing now becouse most of them are charters boat and we are off season now, some boats fish during the weekends,

the report,

18-sep

aboard theTEASER,
we were the only boat out that day, we did not see a single sailfish that day, caught 5 nice dorados, one big dorado 35 lbs,









20-sep

the RELEASE raised 3 sails caught 1 sail on fly, raised 1 blue marlin but no bite

the INTENSITY raised 4 sails, caught 1 on fly rod and 1 sail on bait, 1 blue marlin bite 200 lbs,

Aboard the TEASER,

have a blue marlin bite on a live bonito, the client dont drop the line and the blue ate the bait, raised 2 sails have 1 bite 0 releases, caught 4 nice dorados with live bait,

we find this big log 25 miles out



we troll a live bonito for the big dorados



















21-sep

that day was better for all the boats out there, blue water at 25 miles, lot dorados and some sailfish show up today,

FINESTKIND raised 4 sails, 1 bite the fly, raised a blue marlin didīt bite the fly this until 11:30 am when was the last time i spoke witht he captain,

INTENSITY raised 4 saisl in morning and release 3 sails, then in the afternoon about 3 pm they raised 3 more sailfish and release 2,

A board the TEASER

we raised 2 sails in the morning both bite the baits, but no releases, in the afternoon we release 1 sailfish and caught 5 dorados

Nice report
The Finest Kind should be getting back to Florida soon for the sailfish season or is this another boat that they have that stays there year round.
Who's the captain ? Is it Scotty ?

I think this is the old FINEST KIND, this one came here to Guatemla 1 year ago probably and its part of Casa Vieja Lodge fleet, the last season the captain was Chris Sheeder and i think the season 2008/2009 the captain will be Erick Lorentzen,
