It depends on which planer you run. I keep 4 different size planers on the boat and they cover any where from10ft to 75 ft below the surface......Mark

Thanks guy's! I have noticed more people going to the planer rod set up and I was just assuming they were still running the paper clip method. I like the idea of less mess to store and having less mess on desk to contend with.

The mess on the deck and having to stop the boat to get the planer in is why I went with the planer rod. If you get a rod made make sure you get the removable butt so you can use either a bent or straight butt depending on what you like. Mark

I am going to do a tutorial on making the windon bridal after the holidays. That way anyone who wants to make their own can do so. Surprisingly the bridal will last 10 or more 8hr trolling days. Since the dacron does not kink like mono and there are no crimps to damage the connections the windon bridal leader lasts much longer....Mark
