Fished out of HI this last weekend with Gary (fishbard) and a fellow named Graham who came along as a ho. Real slow fishing but a good time none-the-less. On Sat we got three king macks and one BIG bonita. Graham was a real gentleman and you would have thought we'd caught 3 Blue Marlin. He was real excited to be out catching ANYTHING. On Sunday we got one king and a couple of FA's on our 1/2 day troll down the beach from the inlet.
On saturday we fished up near the Smell and Slick wrecks. Came up on a tide line that really should have produced some fish. Nice color change, temp break, and loaded with bait to boot. Had some tiny mahi's greyhound through the spread one time and that was it. We could hear on the radio both days how most of the charter guys were struggling so we never even bothered to run very far offshore
I did get to fire up and test the new Furuno 585 though and it was real sweet. I'm gong to try to post a pic of a screen shot. The one I took was on Sunday and we had a bunch way better than this one but I forgot to snap a pic of them.
