Default Packaging fish for freezer -suggestions (OBX)?

I don't want to jinx myself but here goes . . .

We are fishing with Kenny Sexton out of Pirates Cove next week (June 5). It will be four of us. Let's assume and hope that we have an unbelievable day on the water and fill up the fish boxes. We'll be staying a couple of days at Pirate's Cove. Any suggestions on how we can get our fish vacuum packed since I do not have a vacuum sealer? I believe I saw a sign at Austin's saying they would package your catch but I am not sure of the cost or what they offer.

Any suggestions? I am a nearshore/inshore boater so I generally eat my fish while they are fresh.

Thanks for any heads up. Any local boys have a vacuum sealer and willing to make a trade for beer, money or fish?

Law Dog I do not know if you have fished with Kenny before but I can tell you if the fishing is good next week you WILL catch fish. Kenny is a great captain and a hell of a nice guy. I used to live next door to Kenny and his family. They are really nice people. His daughter Kelsea and my son are good friends. I even coached his daughter last year in t-ball. You guys will have a great trip. Kenny always goes the extra mile to sure you are satisfied. A little extra bonus is Kenny is one heck of a marlin fisherman. Good luck. Let us know how you did and post some pics after your trip.

I would take Bluffman up on his offer. I am sure you will need to pack up some meat!!

Well you certainly can't beat Steve's offer, but if all else fails, try calling some of the local butcher shops. If any of the grocery stores have butcher deptments, they "might"? I know up in these parts most butcher shopos will do it for you.....obviously for a small fee.

What kind of bags does your vacuum sealer use? I was going to buy one and bring it up with me, but it was either a vacuum sealer, or a Chef's Choice 130 knife sharpener for the filet knives while I'm cuttin up fish. They got dull pretty fast last year with all the fish I was choppin up.

I'll make sure to leave the sharpener out for whoever wants to use it at the dock.

Bluffman,

Thank you very much for your generous offer. I sent you a PM.

My friends and I are excited about getting out there and fishing with Kenny Sexton. I do not know him but have heard many good things about him.
