Default Fishing around the Mississippi coast.

People,I will be heading down May 15-18 to Biloix for a few days with the family. Was planning on hitting Horn Island with some of ya'll,but it looks like nobody is going on those days.Anyway,I am still going and plan on bringing my boat. Here is the deal.My son has a broken leg,so if the weather is bad or seas are choppy,I will not be able to run to far. What I am getting at is if seas are greater then 2'-4' seas. So,with that in mine,is there places close to shore to fish for trout?I know it is no Loiusiana fishing, but there has to be some place to fish.I don't know the waters,so keep that in mine too!Now if a few of ya'll have any GPS numbers that what to share for some bottom fishing offshore say south or southeast of Biloix,I will not pass them on to anybody else. This will be only a one time trip.On the 15 of May,that is my sons birthday and with him tied to a bed the last week,it has been killing him.He said he needs a fishing fix as I do to.Any help? Also,if anybody is interrested in a dog show, there is a very big one in Biloix May 15-18.My daughter will be showing one of her Great Daines.
Thanks,Paul

Stephen,we are still heading down and I will be draging my boat.Weater looks like sh=t,but one has to go to know.If the wind is bad,we might try fishing in the back bay.Any thing in that area?I will need 2' of water to be able to run my boat.Any skinny waters in that area to stay away from?I don't have any up to date charts on the area, but I will try to find one when I get down there.

We did make the trip and of course it rain the first two days.Saturday we fished inside. My son couldn't take a beating even though I would like to give him one now and then.Well, the fishing sucks and all I could say compared to Louisiana. Then again it would of help to know more of the waterways and all.best fish for the day was a nice 6lb trout which was cought on a small 6" croaker which was cought at the old 90 bridge. After that fish, told the crew we needed some live bait.So we took off and ran into a bait boat that was draging a rag.Asked the captain if he would sell us some croakers. He told me he only had a few.In turn he just gave them to us and turn I handed him a cold 6pack of Louisiana beer.Don't know if Mississippi ever when up on the buzz in the can beer.Anyway,we head back to were we were and wet a few lines. After an hour or so,NO FISH,called it a day.

Over all,the family enjoy the trip.Nice people we talk to down there.Biloxi is making a come back little by little and I wouldn't mine buying some land there, then again maybe something down in the keys in Fla.

The dog show was nice with my daughter placing very well in her class. Then there was "Save A Sister" thing going on there. On the second day as we were going into the dog show,we had to pass thru a line of save a sister. With a 155lb Great Daine leading the way,the line of save a sisters parted like the black sea!LOL
