What is the difference between bonita, and false albacore. They look a lot alike(identical to me) but I know false albacore are not any good. Differences??

Small ones are good live bait if you hook'em up fast before they die. We use the larger ones for chum or cut bait.

The False Albacore have spots on them under the pectorals. Kind of looks like fingerprints on their skin on the white area of their bellies.

Bonito have teeth & straight laternal lines - arrive early spring gone in 2 -4 weeks.
You can eat them, very firm white meat when cooked, just finished having some for dinner, from the grill...........

False Albies no teeth & squiggley laternal lines - fall fish without any food value. Good for strip bait........ICM

i think the bonito are NOT good eating compared to other tuna like the skipjack. I dont know about the table value of the other, which is what that looks like. The original pic doesnt look like a bonito.
