Default Let's do some photo's of backing down...

I always appreciate these, because we've all been there, at least I hope.

If you haven't witnessed a back down on a large marlin, basically this is what happens.

Hookup, the capt sees the fish running, jams the throttles in reverse, and pursues the fish going arse backwards into the ocean. Makes for a fun time when the seas are big, and the bilge alarms are going off, and the ocean comes over the transom.

Now that's some aggressive backing down! I saw a pic the other day (I'll try to dig it up) where the cockpit was damn near full to the gunnels. Coolers floating around, mate up to his waist in water. Wild stuff.

Here's some of my own personal one's, fishing on the Blue Devil a few years back, pursuing a smaller blue marlin, prolly 300 lb'er. He was released, and swam away.
