Very cool! I ripped all that stuff out when I re-built my boat and I haven't put any tunes back in. Yet. That there is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll be doing that this winter. Thanks Glen.

mark - sorry - that unit does not have a aux in for the ipod....you only choice is to use an FM modulator (bad) or split the inputs using a/b switches from radio shack..a bit cumbersome...A better choice is replavce the head unit with a CMD4 for 160 bucks off ebay - it will fit perfectly in the space you have and hooks up the same way....

Remember guys, you can find many marine stereos that play MP3 files these days - Sony, clarion etc....Using iTunes and your own cd collection you can create mp3 discs on std CD-r discs that allow 150 SONGS PER CD......that plays for approx 10 HOURS....make up a few of these and you don't need a ipod....3 discs and you'll fish for 3days and never hear the same song....

yes and no...- the amp has a gain control..what you do is set the ipod at the max volume....then you turn up the gain to the loudest you ever think you want it...like at cruise...then you use the ipod controll to back it down....that way from the ipod you can never blow the system....

and you need this kit to hook up the amp - rememeber the main power wire goes straight to the batt and the remote turn on wire goes to any 12V switch on the dash...a simple toggle switch will do....
