Default New Lowrance Line Up For 2009

Have you guys seen Lowrance MDS units yet? The new units have the option of a built in broadband sounder. They look nice and also have new broadband low powered radar and navico weather.

HDS High-Def System | Lowrance

I saw some pictures of them, nice features and the price was not too bad. Now, if they could only add side scanning sonar like hummingbird that would be really cool.

Having your lifejackets on board and not wearing them is like putting your seatbelt on during a car accident.

I agree. I currently have the humminbird side scan and love it but i have always been a lowrance fan also owing many of their units in the past. If i was retrofitting new electronics today i wouldnt know which way to go.
Humminbirds quadrabeam is also cool!!

I just finished reading about them, very interesting and a step up for Lowrance. Many are taking pre-orders now as shipments should start very soon.

Same here Jeff. Many people interested and have one HDS-10 system with 4kw dome on order. Lowrance rep lives right up the street and I got to see the smaller hds sytems working. Talk about nice. I am really impressed!

Any word on reliability? Some THT guy is complaining about it not being waterproof. Trying to decide between an HDS-7 or a Garmin 545s. Anything else to look at?

Just like any new model there are going to be bugs to work out. I am reading some negative as well but overall i think its going to be a very good affordable product.

True but for over $1000 I don't want to have to call an exterminator...
