I like Lowrance products, but the customer service would keep me from buying another Lowrance unit. I have two units on my boat now, and had to send one off to be repaired. Hold times of 1 hr + on the phone and a month without a unit didn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling with Lowrance

Thanks! That is my exact concern.

Personally I wouldn't buy anything under the Navico umbrella right now they are having major problems with customer service as well as other problems. They have gotten to big to fast and cannot handle the problems that are being created by that growth. Simrad is a perfect example. They used to be top notch in both the technical and service dept. Not any more since being bought out by Navico. It is a broad Navico problem period. Stay away and don't say you were not warned!!!...

I have a Garmin 545 as a backup on my boat. It is set up for TDs and has the XM Weather. Nothing like getting the Bouy info on the boat and the weather updates. It has been very accurate but the bouy info is the ticket. I pull up Diamond shoals buoy and the buoy off Virgina Beach to see what it is like before we leave the dock. It is just like having the computer on the boat!! The TDs have been pretty accurate as well. The only thing I dont like is not near as easy to navigate the pages as my Simrad ....Mark

Found a killer deal on a never installed 545s with the external antenna and the GXM31! Will be installing over the weekend.

Greg if you have any questions let me know. I mounted my puck for XM on the top of my center console as far forward as possible in the center. Works great in that location. I got that tip from Bluewaterpirate....Mark
