Default Norfolk Harbor Fest 2008 6/13-6/15/2008

I have missed the last few Harborfests. Actually I have not been to one since 1998. I grew up on The Elizabeth River and miss the fishing (I hear the fish are not safe to keep anymore) and the boating events. The next one will be June 13-15, 2008. I will be there! Anyone here planning on going?

I'm planning on going Jimmy. We went this year and had a great time. I met with some people from OV and we had the largest raft up. The 4th was fun also. Let me know if your up this way this fall and I will take you out on my boat for some striper fishing. We are just a few blocks from City park. HRBT run is not to far. I'm hoping for a nice weekend to run out to CBBT sometime. I hear the stripers are a bit larger out there..

After I get my shop painted I may take you up on the fishing.

HRBT is about 45 minutes from the park right? I miss the fishing up there. I head about the 8 lb croaker caught up that way this year. Thats amazing. "OV"? Is that Ocean View?

OV is Ocean View.

Yeah man, take me up on it anytime. I'm pretty much free on the weekends. Also, I may be able to get out through the week too.

Hoping the cold at night will speed the bite up sooner.

PM your number when you want to get out. I grew up in NC so I don't know to many people around here.

I here yah. I had a friend that used to live in Fayetteville. He got KIA in June. My brother lives in Windsor. I grew up on Cypress Rd. in Portsmouth. Some of my childhood friends still live there.

Cypress Rd is right there at Portsmouth City Park right? (I live in Suffolk...but it seems increasingly more of my friends are moving to Portsmouth...cheaper I reckon).

Shea St? Thats stomping grounds! I went to 1st grade at Bethany Baptist Church. Then in 2nd grade I switched to Simonsdale Elementary. I played Olive Branch Little League Baseball behind the school. I got family buried in the graveyard at City Park. I used to be in the Boy Scouts and we met are the building in Vick St. at the corner of City Park Avenue. Is The Tinee Giant still on Vick St? I spent a lot of summers on the Western Branch of The Elizabeth River.
