I didn't see this post until today, but it brought me out of "lurk" mode. I live in Norfolk, and while I'm in my first year of fishing from a boat in this area, I'd be happy to help as I can and fish with you either on your boat or mine as needed, or we can "buddy boat" it for some trips. Fishing here is as "year round" as down in the gulf, though not as comfortable. But at least we don't get quite the storms they do down there.

BTW, Bring some shrimp with you.

I was actual up in Norfolk this past weekend. I learned alot about the area, where to live and where not to live. We looked at so many apartments and townhouses. We also learned about the tunnels and how they back up! My boat is going to stay in Mobile, Al until I find house or a good place to keep it. When it gets closer to time to make move I sure I will get up with some of you guys.

Just saw this thread.

Norfolk is an awesome fishery. Winter fishing for Striper, either trolling or eeling.
CBBT is basically a 15 mile long artifical reef.
Togs in the late fall and early spring.
Spring brings flounder. Drift or troll for them.
Offshore fishing is a little further out than in NC, but if you've got the range you can get into all the usual suspects in the stream.
Summer brings drum and cobia. Spadefish, too.
Probably not covering all the possibilites.
Let me know when you're around. I'm up in Woodbridge, but am always looking for either buddy boats to share info with or HO's to share a day on the ater with. I tow down to the bay and usually launch in Hampton....not as much traffic as your side of the HRBT.
