Put the boat in at Wallaces again yesterday.
Crew was my buddy, his 17yo son and best friend, and my secretary's 14 yo son.
Decided it was just choppy enough that I didn't want to run across to the bridge. We trolled around a little bit and didn't find any macs. Headed up to the York light and found one other boat. Anchored off and started fishing for spades.
Pretty quickly we put a fish in the boat. Wrong species, not big enough to keep, but it was the first cobia to go into my boat!!!! Put up quite a fight on light tackle, and it was one of the kids that caught him.
It had jewelry, but we'd had the fish out of the water a little long already, so I didn't want to stress him any longer and didn't write the tag info down.
After resetting a few times on the tower, we got into fish! We started catching spades. My first time ever.
None of them were very big, but they were amazing on light gear! Lots of fun. A few small blues played, too.
My first spade!
Our neighbors. Friendly guys....I'm sure it was entertaining watching my crew screw up a few sets on the anchor
